Extinction of Tax As We Know It
On the shift from periodic tax administration to continuous, transaction-level oversight — and what it changes for enterprises.
“A bible for in-house tax teams” — International Tax Review
Contiqa Systems works where regulation meets enterprise reality — the systems that issue the invoice, the data that determines the outcome, the controls that catch the exception and the people accountable for all three.
Tax authorities across the GCC and Europe are moving to transaction-level oversight. For enterprises, that changes where tax risk sits: away from the return, and into the invoice, the master-data record, the interface and the exception queue.
Contiqa Systems was founded in Dubai to work at that level. We interpret the regulation, translate it into tax logic and data definitions, test it against the systems a business already runs, and stay through implementation and assurance. The work is deliberately practical, independent of any ASP or ERP platform, and led by people who have carried the accountability themselves.
Real-time tax transformation requires tax interpretation, technology, reliable data, workable operating models and governance to function together.
Technical interpretation and defensible positions.
ERP, tax engines and system architecture.
Master data and transaction data that hold up.
Workable roles, processes and decision rights.
Controls, evidence and accountability.

Founder & CEO, Contiqa Systems
Chartered Accountant · INSEAD EMBA · ADIT
More than two decades in senior in-house tax roles, including Group Indirect Tax Director at Majid Al Futtaim and earlier at Landmark Group, running multi-country transformation programmes at the intersection of tax, ERP systems, data, processes and governance.
His work has centred on the point where a tax requirement becomes a system behaviour: determination logic inside the ERP, the master data that feeds it, the interfaces that carry it to an authority, and the controls and evidence that make the outcome defensible afterwards.
That experience shapes how Contiqa engages. Recommendations are written to be implemented by the teams who will live with them, within the constraints those teams actually have.
The thinking behind Contiqa’s methods is published openly. The books and the full framework library are hosted on Nitin Agarwal’s site.

A practitioner account of translating real-time tax mandates into systems, data, controls and governance.
Contiqa’s approach is informed by Nitin Agarwal’s work on the Tax Velocity Gap™, Authority Mirror View™ and Continuous Controls Environment™, among others.
Contiqa is based in Dubai and works with enterprises across the GCC. The architecture behind UAE e-invoicing is shared with Peppol-based regimes in Europe and the wider Gulf, so the same methods apply as further mandates arrive.
